Droning On In NJ
There was a recent “update” on the NJ drone issue. The White House said they were authorized by the FAA for “research and various other reasons” and are “not the enemy”. My question is why wouldn’t the FAA have told us when it was first reported? In November, the Governor and President both stated they had no information. The article also referred to the issue as being in the past, yet the drones are all over northern NJ most evenings. Here is footage of several flying over Ringwood tonight. As you can see that’s a LOT of activity over one small town. There’s no way FAA would allow that many planes at one time. Drones can be spotted in Ringwood and surrounding towns on any clear night from sunset to around 9pm. (I’m guessing that’s how long their batteries last). They move at consistant rates around 50mph in straight lines following waypoints around the Wanaque Reservoir and lake communities. My guess is they will stop as soon as the weather warms up and will be more visible as people sit outside in the evening. I can’t wait to find the real update about why this has been happening.
